Curses, Goats, Bartman.......

Here we go again....Baby Jack wanted to stay up to watch the first game of the Cubs playoff series.....if only he knew what he's getting himself into being a Cubs fan.

Go BIG

I LOVE big prints (and not just the ones of Baby Jack), however one way to get more bang for your buck with large prints is to have them printed on a stretched canvas.

Normally if you order an 11x14 print, you then have to find a 16x20 (or larger) matboard to mount the print in, and then select a frame to hold the matboard. With canvas, the entire size of the piece is comprised of the image (the image can even be wrapped around the edges of the stretcher frame), so you don't lose any wallspace to the frame and/or the matboard. Canvas prints are also more convenient, they are ready to hang and display upon delivery.

It's hard to get a sense of the size, but this one is 24x36, proudly on display in Jack's nursery.

So if you have some empty wall space that's just begging to host some new artwork, consider ordering your next set of family portraits on canvas.

Bronwyn & Dan, Into the wild blue yonder.......

Bronwyn & Dan are both officers in the US Air Force. I have a sister who is a graduate of the US Naval Academy, and I've always had a lot of respect for what these kids go through in order to serve their country. I don't want this blog to become political, but regardless of where your political compass points, you can't help but want to give some support to everyone serving in the US Armed Forces after being around people like Bronwyn & Dan.

I wanted to do something a bit different with this post, so instead of showing a selection of my favorite individual pictures, I've posted a sample of the individual layouts from the first draft of their album (the pictures that make up these layouts are usually my favorites, which hopefully always show up in the album anyway) Each picture on the blog is actually a two page spread of a 10x10 in book, so every spread will print to a final size of 10x20 (except for the square pictures, those are single pages). You can click on each image to enlarge as well.

I couldn't quite figure out the point of Air Force officers on top of an Army tank, but I gotta give Bronwyn a lot of credit for climbing up there in her wedding dress!

Thanks again and Congratulations! The rest of the album and gallery should be ready to view in a few days.

Jacked Up

I've had a couple of requests for some updated pictures of Baby Jack, so here ya go......

...where's my fly rod....gotta go catch dinner.....

This is the way Baby Jack looks whenever Wrecks Grossman goes back to throw a pass, hopefully he'll learn to like football in spite of the Bear's current QB.....

...But then again the Cubs won this weekend, so there may be something to look forward too this fall!

Allie & Josh.....the wedding!

The best part about scheduling an engagement session with a couple is it really makes you look forward to their wedding day, because you already have a glimpse into how the couple acts together. And since I had already shot Allie & Josh's engagment pictures back in May (see the archives), I knew this was going to be a fun one!

It never gets old...once the dress goes on, it's all smiles.....

I still can't decide whether doing the couples "first look" at each other before the ceremony is a good idea or not. It's more traditional at the church, but it's sometimes more difficult to get a good image of the groom's first reaction to seeing his Bride. Allie & Josh saw each other before the ceremony, and the look on Josh's face in this image makes it worthwhile!

I guess the bridesmaids didn't think I'd have enough pictures of Allie

The getaway.....

Thanks again for including me in your day!

Jessica & Roger

This was just plain mean...roger thinks he's about to find a garter, and instead gets a sweaty, hairy groomsmen leg instead.
